Subject: Champion lands

What is it with the "traditional coalition" or what ever it is called? Dean struck a deal with the NRA and various sportsmen and sportswomen groups which actually gives the Campion lands' camp owners a much better deal then the used to have with the Champion Company. The deal also gave all the access rights needed by hunters and fisherfolks. This Dean deal was certainly not what all the environmentalist wanted. Me thinks this is just another attack on Dean. A political power play by the right-wing. The problem is it puts Douglas in a tight box. If he caves into this group, he will have set the stage for caving into all special interest gorups. If he does not cave in, this group which never gives up will destroy the Douglas administration from the Right. Douglas is in a bad place!! He can not win. It is unfortunate that the right-wingers have placed him in this situation before even giving him a chance. It once again demonstrates that the right-wing will kill off its own to try to get its way. Stupid!!
