I am moderate, but I have to side with peter in this matter.

Trent Lott is no memory, NYGOP. Hardly at all. His comments really hurt the GOP, and many friends that I have, that are Republicans say that it was very hurtful. How do you think the civil rights groups felt about it?

There are some good Republicans out there, like Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine. Both very Moderate Republicans.

But what bothers me is your ignorance of the true matter here. You blame the Liberals for ignorance and being pathetic. The Conservative Republican agenda is somewhat hypocritical. Your Presidents like Ronald Regan massivly increased the national debt to trillions of dollars for a stupid "Star Wars" laser program, and dispense tax cuts to the rich and powerful. What about the middle class? what about the poor?

As many Americans are coming to see, the moderate way is better then the far right or far left. I like neither of the ultra right or ultra left, but you calling Liberals ignorant is hypocrital of everything: what about Alaska and drilling in the Arctic? A dumb idea. What about leaving out special education funding in the national budget in 2000, and instead digging further for deeper tax cuts.

I do not think that Peter is being ignorant of the facts, its more of the Republican Conservatism that you seem to embrace, that is.
