Ted, I do know what you mean by that. I finally got so frustrated I went to DSL which is instant access to the internet. As soon as the computer comes on you are connected; and it will stay connected until the computer is turned off. It is a little more costly, but we were able to eliminate the extra phone line which helped with expense. One phone line is sufficient, and you can use the telephone at the same time. I love the instant access, and the speed of it. Because I monitor on an international board, I need access pretty much all my waking hours. There is nothing more frustrating then not being able to get on line.

Hope your problem is cleared up soon. We will find the answer to Catherine's problem before long. :-)
