after reading that about the referee it seems to me that he/she isnt upto the job of refereeing a football match. Although im sure you're right that the ref wasnt cheating it does seem very strange that the referee gave a goal simply because the linesmans flag wasnt held high enough.
From the sounds of it the referee consulted the linesman (who hadnt followed the proper flagging procedure) and was told it was offside but still allowed the goal because of the improper/non-existent flagging. If thats the case then its very poor because the referee has the power to change his decision from a goal to offside even after hes given the goal. So why not?

me confused. anyone care to explain exactly what happened?
