I think the point is that these teams are no longer playing in a "reserve" division, but have been placed in div one when their first teams play at a higher level. Everyone accepts that there is movement from a ist team to a reserve team and vice versa, ask the managers at redditch, southam and coventry. If a club was to put two teams in at different levels i would expect them to be separate teams with a different set of registered players. (have the league any comment??) However in practice, if these two teams are playing at different levels on the same day there is unlikely to be that much movement of players except in the case of injury.
personally i think its a shame the reserve league folded, but some clubs struggle to put out one team aweekend let alone two. Also, a couple of seasons ago there was a big difference in ability between the reserve teams at the top of the table and those at the bottom which didnt always make for good football.
