the young wolf noted her caution and smiled to himself, she was smart. but of course she had to be smart to become a ruler. he listened to her speak, though it was more calm then he had expected and not nearly as surprised. he became slightly down hearted that his news was not heard by just his ears, but he didn't let that affect him. jealousy had never been an emotion for him.

when one is a ruler, not a word uttered is not repeated. when the life of acqueen or king is taken it is a life with no privacy. you have many enemies which want to dethrone you and many allies which want to aide you. in doing either of these you must know everything possible, which leaves you with nothing secrative. so many envy the royal bloods, but not i. i prefer my solitude and stealth. i do not want my name to be known by all around me for fear they know me better than i do. hmmm, funny that i should hold the same fear as you for i of all should know you never know who you are. your mind is simply the reader, while your actions are the book. the book wasn't written by you, so understanding it is not always easy and never fully achieved. we can spend our entire life trying to find who we are, but what good will that do? we can learn more about others than ourselves. i believe we weren't ment to find our true identity, life would have no surprise if we knew. unless of course boredom is of your favor burdened leader? a nickname i give to everyone, for a name can tell much, but not all. that is why i name you when i first meet you. i judge you by what i know, as a name does. as time goes on i may find your name in need of altering, but first impressions are lasting, even if not always correct. speaking with another is purely a game of wits. you must know more about the opponent, than the opponent knows about you. for instance i know burdened leader, that you are torn between the paws of many. Band and Greyen(sp?) are of your highest worry, yet your highest pleasure. you want to make others happy, but you often forget to account yourself in doing so. you place others before you, which most times is good, but not always as you might have already found. you must remember that you have a heart as well as they do, and perhaps they should realize you have a heart as well as they do. yet the heart can blind the mind so well, too well at times.

the shadowed pup watched her with cold orbs that held mysteries much like the stars. his gaze studied her constantly, watching her every move, her every expression. he needed to find out all he could of ths wolfess, for only that could help him and her.
