Entering The Tooheys (then CUB Cup) competition was talked about by Port a few years ago, but it was always too difficult a proposition. Apart from the added drain of $$ for the club, there was the fact that the competition is structured separatley to the main comp. On the other hand, if the club had 1sts, 2nds and 18's, and then TNC on top of it, all playing at home on the one day, 18's would need to start at 10.30 - that's a long day for the club. then there's the difficulty of players only wanting to play TNC OR NOT wanting to play TNC - it's a difficult proposition. But I agree, something needs to be done to strengthen the TNC as there are many players who want to "have a game" of footy - the question is what?
