It is a lower standard of footy, (usually more violent) is a great drain on resourses as they play at different venues and offers nothing in terms of development. These clubs would prefer to concentrate on under 18s so they bring in players to grade for future years. A good young under 18 will not go near the 2nd division if he aspires to be any good. It really was always intended to be a pub comp, more for a player wanting a year or two playing with mates, without the commitment to 2 or 3 nights of training consistently, and not chasing money.
