(Nothing against our great competition but it is just a matter of reality). For this reason a club should be proud when its players are discussed by the big clubs and not have any reservations in releasing them. NRL is the pinnacle and every young players dream and club footy should not stand in the way of this ambition. I dont hear the Butchers crying out for players such as Brent Grose, Jason Bulgarelli, Michael/David Howell, Ryan Powell or James Storer. They proudly released these guys and wished them all the best in their future. More recently, players like Aaron Beath and Jay Van Meegan have been playing premier league with the clubs best wishes. And they are the premiers. Maybe it says something about big spending and how it can eat away at success on the park. You cant buy a premiership, it has to be earned.
