What a sight it was for Thirroul fans to see the incumbent Tooheys league player of the year in the blue and white against the Devils.
Earmarked by the Dragons during the pre-season, it was widely rumoured that Beaks appearances for the Butchers would be scarce in 2004. However, there he was in the first game steering the ship for the premiers like he never left.
After the game Beak was typically humble regarding his performance saying that "it's good to get back to park football now and again, a bit slower than what I'm used to but good for a trot with the boys".
Rumour has it that the Beak went out and celebrated with a beer and a salad on Sunday night.
