 The board of Wests football club should hang their heads in shame at the state of their mudpit of a home ground. You would have thought that it had pissed down for a month, players were sinking up to their ankles. Thirroul coach Jumbo Jones had to strap tennis rackets to the soles of his shoes just to pace the sidelines safely.
My question is, why is it that a club with the backing of the biggest poker machine crammed leagues club in the district cannot afford an acceptable home ground? Wests have shamelessly thrown hundreds of thousands of dollars around trying to buy a premiership over the past decade (money well spent), but can't provide decent playing facilities. Butcher Stadium may not be much, but it is like Wembley compared to that swamp.
