Subject: Colonel Matthew F. Locke

Gentlemen and Your Ladies,

A new marker has arrived for Colonel Matthew F. Locke, 10th Texas Cavalry. He was the regiment's 1st commander, followed by Colonel Cullin Redwine Earp whom we reinterred a year ago last April. Col Locke was called home in 1911, and his grave was never marked.

The location is known to the very spot in Concordia cemetery, El Paso, Texas. We are coordinating with Mr. Tom King, a direct descendant of Colonel Locke, for a specific date in April of 2010 to hold the dedication. It will be on a Saturday.

I will leave on the preceding Friday bright and early, and will set the stone Saturday morning. The dedication will be in the afternoon. I have room for three more individuals in my vehicle. If we have enough folks to do so, we will look into renting a larger-capacity vehicle.

Just a heads-up for now. I will keep you posted as to the developments. Have a very Merry Christmas!
