Subject: Stock Show Parade

Well boys, if you didn't show up for the parade, you really missed a good one. We had two ranks with the OCG banner out front carried by our own Cindy Stuart, Ruth Goetz, Judy Bennett, Judy Lanahan and Miss Jennies Grand-daughter. They did an excellent job letting the folks that were lining the streets know who we were. Following the banner was The Color Guard. Tom Stuart carried the BIG GREEN IRISH and Steve Monroe carried the OCG colors. Then the faithful members of the 9th Texas Infantry that have been supporting us in our endevors.
Some of the participants were members of the OCG and some were not. We welcome the first timers to an OCG function to please feel at home with us. You are invited to participate with us at any function we do.
The crowd was especially receptive to the drummers, one of which was our own Jeremy Stuart, out of mothballs, along with another drummer. We even had a fifer from Big Springs that so graciously drove in just to be with us. Without the drummers and fifer, I don't think we would have had the same response from the thousands of people that came out to see the parade. I think we made a good enough showing to win the Heritage Award again this year. If so, great. If not, it's also great, cause we had a blast and we were visible to a lot of people.
To all of the pards out there that participated, please post a message on the board and let us know what your feelings were, or e-mail me personally. I would like to know what the overall feelings are.
YOS HONOR AND SERVE
Sgt Dan Hastings
