Perform, give a speech,have an art display, join a frum, start a band, get your work out there! Do what ever you can to make a mark on the art world around you, becuase sooner or later you will find the opertunity of a life time and you will be in lack of resources. people around you have resources, they have scholorships, recomindatoins, advice and anything you will need, but so many people are compeating for those resources. they are gonna say what have you done for us? I can say I created the voy, I wrote the guide for the created creator, i perfromed all over town, i published my poetry, i displayed my art and i have made my a mark in the art world, what can you say?
