it's the dream of every human being before they can walk and talk to live life as a created creater, or some one who makes art and relizes they themselfs are art. before sin clustered our visoin we could probally see the conectoin of god the father, god the son, goad the holly spirit and art.
if you want to grow as an artist you must know why you grow, why do you create? i was tought that man creates becuase we were hurt, and for the longest time i believed that to be the sole answer, recently i have relized the reason we actually create, becuase we were made in the image of the great creater!Julia Cameron sugests that god is shorthand for good oderly flow for creattivity.
it makes sense really that christainity and art are parellel, to make art you need insperatoin, insperatoin is the breath of god. Both artist and christains strive for that source of insperatoin, and once receiving what they strive for, they have a passoin, or even a hunger to show it to some one else!
the idea that christ and art are so closely realated is no new idea at all, in renasence times many paintings were inspired by the bible. this is partly becuase many people at this time could not read, but the church wanted to reach them, so instead they would heir an artist to paint out the scene. And music and church have an extremely long history!
one art form that doesnt have such a history is dance. dance to them was evil, for peagen rituals only. this is due to the fact that many times people would go to week long parties called orgys where they would be drunk off their butts and then do dances for thier peagen gods. More recently some extremely famous dancers ruined the name for us dancers, they rebelled, they broke away from their countrys, they defected. Imagine a traditoinalist looking at all this and the artist are saying, im doing for the love of art. that is where the idea comes that art and gods will are two defreint subjects.
When a government takes over a new place, they stop two things, art and reliegoin. this is becuase those are the two most important ingredents to culture. with out them culture is nothing but wearing silly head dresses or eating bitter roots. to clear up any minds i will say one last thing, If we were'nt made to create, we wouldnt have pens to write with, paint topaint with, clay to sculpt with, dance floors to dance with. and thats that!
