Hi,
I am shocked about hearing about your Pei chewing anything! I have 3 and not one of them has ever chewed anything. When I brought each of them home as puppies they always acted like adult dogs and never went through the normal puppy stage. This was weird to say the least since I received one at 4 weeks and the other at 10 weeks. The third is my mother's that I recently inherited.

I would try my best to keep all leather items, shoes, belts, etc. off the floor or anywhere the puppy roams. I also have two large dogs, Cane Corsos, and I kept room doors shut until they were older. I also use a fly swatter for disciplin, never the hand! I don't have to use it often either, I just get it out and they all straighten up. lol
Catching your puppy in the act is crucial and when you do a firm NO and remove the dog from the shoe. I have also taken whatever item that has been chewed and show it to them over and over while I am saying no, this has really worked for me.
Good luck and may you find both shoes intact when you get ready to put them on! LOL

Kay
