I remember late one night (when I should have been in bed but I just had to finish one more chapter, and then another...) thinking: Wow this guy really went through Hell. And for that I'm sorry. When I look back I guess I didn't have it as bad as many in high school. Just verbal attacks never anything physical. Having good friends seemed to help on that account, but it still hurt. Now that I think about it I don't know of anyone who was physically assaulted on any kind of regular basis. That’s just one of the joys of living in a small town. Things have changed in the nine years since I was in high school, my old high school now has full time police officers and sec. cams. As for your self-image, look, your obviously very intelligent anyone who reads your stories can tell that. Also, you’re a great writer (otherwise I would have not been here past the first few chapters!). If your like me, and you still live in your hometown (or even if you just visit) from time to time you'll see those guys around. Look at them and give your self a little smile, what are they now?
