I have never read a gay love story before, but reading the Pete and Brian Story has been amazing!! I live in a severly homo-phob "burb"... I have never really had any experience of what a REAL gay teen goeas through, this story may be fictional, but it has brought me a sense of reality of how hard it is for gay people to deal with thier sexuality!! THe first time I had ever been introduced to any REAL gay entertainment was on Showtime's Queer as Folk. Now, as I read this story, I'm no longer just entertained... I am appreciative. This story has changed me from just another straight, white, female, who defends comments on nationality to a person who will defend ANYONE no matter WHAT!!
