~sigh~ I just checked the CNN website and according to it and the offical Showtime QAF site....this Wendsday they have rescheduled the cast and producers to be on this Wendsday. I swear, if they cancel it this time because of some celebrity arrest, I'm gonna lose it. ~starts to rant~ Does anybody here care at all about Robert Blake being arrested? I mean, yeah it was terrible that it appears that he either killed his wife or had his bodyguard do it, but I mean, geeeez! How many other men in the world were arrested for murder that day? I don't see CNN covering any of those arrests. Just because the guy was once a tv star (and that was a LOOOONG time ago) makes it national news? If, last Thursday the Larry King QAF show had been canceled due to a celebrity death, and Larry had a show to remember the deceased, I could live with that, but to spend a hour watching mostly a car driving down a highway while listening to Larry talking to the guy's lawyer is STUPID!! I think this speaks volumes about how screwed up our society has become and how obsessed we've become with so-called "celebrities", or am I wrong here?

Anyway, hopefully the show WILL be on this time so either try to watch or set your VCRs ok?

Don't get me wrong though, Dwayne...it's a tremendous credit to you as a writer to have created this much anticipation for your latest chapter! As dark as the chapter was, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I have to wonder, though... It's been said that "it's always darkest before the dawn." I have to wonder after reading Chapter 14 just how darker it's going to get. Personally, I feel that the situations won't be easily resolved anytime soon - and might get even worse in future chapters - but at least there's the familial bond that gives me hope that the Peterson household...wherever it ends up being...will be a source of calmness. I just realized I have 63 e-mails sitting in my inbox, and that I haven't really been writing back like I should. I could give you all sorts of excuses, but that's what they would be- except for the writing part, of course :).

Anyway, I'm going to start working on the e-mail as I can starting today at the bottom of the lists.

Please believe I enjoy the feedback you give me; it's the highlight of my day most times! But, like most people, I get in a rut and never seem to have time to do what I should (Look at me with the excuses :/ ).

A very good response given the time frame and lack of announcement at various message boards. I hope more people will begin reading and become participants here at Dewey's World. We have 1 GB of Bandwidth on our current tripod server. We exceeded our bandwidth twice last month, thank you all very much, and I hope we exceede it more often. And if we do, I will expand upon our current limits, of course. But I want to thank each of you all for your current support and readership. It is because of you all that we are here to begin with. We all owe Dwayne a great big Hug and Kiss, and a Thank You as well. IF it weren't for him, I wouldn't be doing all the work on this site, nor would any of us have anything to read. Apart from a few grammatical errors wink, the chapter was EXCELLENT! Congratulations, Dewey! As an aside... I've followed the post on how readers here see Brian and Pete. I think this chapter goes a long way into reinforcing the idea of Pete being "the rock". UNLIKE the other chapters (with the exception of chapter 11), we now know that this factor is not lost upon Brian...in fact, the thought of not doing enough to compensate for everything he feels Pete has given him to this point is very much at the forefront of his biggest fear in regards to his relationship with Pete. As he said himself, "One missed step, and I'll be history." (Well, it's something along that statement, anyway...) I'll be very interested in reading the chapters to come if for nothing else to see how Brian develops from this moment on, now that we know a little bit more about what drives him. Wow! what a story! Both versions were good. Though I would have utilized a slightly different format for visual reasons, I felt that version 2 kept the Kyle character involved in the story in greater depth. Version 1 had a higher continuity of the story, so it depends on which way you'd want to stress it, whether it's Paul's 3rd person, or Kyle's 1st person. Both are powerful.

It is a real tragedy to know that this type of harrassment continues to this day.

May the day come that this story become the only way to know about the senseless violence.

I read the two versions of "Jeremy" and preferred the first over the latter. It was a little easier to follow and feel the real gravity of the story.
I don't know your background Dewey, but you have an excellent grasp of how to "write a picture". If you don't work with kids for a living, perhaps you should consider it. I DO work with kids from time to time and what you wrote about in "Jeremy" isn't too far off from what goes on all the time. Unfortunately, what happens in real life tends to be much worse. I'm not referring to the violent death of Jeremy of course, but rather how he was treated while he was alive. I see kids on a weekly basis in the same situations and it's so sad to realize people can treat "their own" like that.

I hope that that can teach kids NOT to hurt themselfs and maybe to learn to talk with an adult or a friend about there problems before they get out of hand. That was a VERY powerful story.

This was a very touching story that I believe most of us can relate with in some way or another. I went to the PJ website and watched the Jeremy video again and the story is truly a wonderful recreation of the song. The truly sad part of the story is, there are millions of kids that have to live in that situation every day. Now, we can't change the world and make people think or treat others diffrently, we can only hope to lead by example. It is a terrible tragedy when children are taught hate and intolerance by their parents and other adults in their life. (I was only going to vote and here I am preaching, but for that matter I imagine I'm preaching to the choir.) I've heard a lot of discussion about the effectiveness of zero-tolerance rules regurading bullying in schools. Myself, I am a firm believer in the opinion that if you can't make it through the school day without harassing someone, you don't deserve to be there. I think we need to lobby our elected officals for stronger zero-tolerance laws. Well, I think I've been on my soap-box long enough. This just happens to be a subject I feal very strongly. Wow...I read both versions and I'm having a difficult time trying to decide which one is better...they BOTH told the story very effectively.

My vote would have to go to version one of "Jeremy". I'm in agreement with most of the people here about version one...it has the best sense of flow to it of the two. However, I also liked seeing the added italic dialogue of Kyle in version two. (but then, I guess I always have been somewhat of a closeted "drama queen"! ;-))

As I write this, I'm still blown away by the scene that was described in the story. You can't help but reflect upon your own junior-high and high school existence and compare notes, if you will. I want to think that I wouldn't have been as explosive as Jeremy was if I had to endure what he did...but I hope I never EVER have to find out.

Dwayne, you did a fantastic job on this story...I hope it was as theraputic for you to write it as it will be for a lot of people who will read it. Congratulations! **hugs**

This group will operate just as the previous version did, dealing with issues regarding the technical aspects and problems of creative writing.

I thought the graphics of your previous design were the best anywhere, don't know why you changed. Now the first page takes about 90 seconds to load and doesn't show anything below the "stories" line, don't know if this is how it should work or not.

Some of those people have helped me through my hard times, and I have tried to help them and others as a form of repayment. I have met some of my on-line friends in RL, too. Those that I have met I like, and I call them brothers. Some of them are closer than others of course, which is only to be expected. Sometimes, you meet someone and you know instantly that that person is special, and has much to offer you. It doesn't happen that often. As a matter of fact, it's rare as hell. But when it does happen, it is something you should grab tight and hold on to. In the past two weeks, it's happened to me three times. I already know my life has changed. I am a different person now, because I have met these wonderful people. Out of respect for their privacy, I won't mention names, as I ask you not to. If they wish to reveal themselves, that's fine. I just want to thank them. Thank you for being here for me as I struggle with my demons, thank you for being my good friends. I am forever yours. ~HUGS~

It has been a while, I am going to post this on a few boards so please forgive me if it looks like I am being a pain....First for you all who dont know me my name is Alex Bright, I am taking a big risk in telling everyone that because I am not out, however I want people to know I am legit with what I am doing. Well A few month ago I was haveing some problems....I went through a depression, but work it out through talking to a few people and making some friends here on this board (thanks again Tim, Christian, and other that visit this web site along with others), they got me out of my slump and I started writing....Thanks Check Out Broken Facades...(shameless plug)....which I am currently working one turning to a screenplay.....but first I want to break down an old sterotype that we have been given that we do not have the ablity to play sports and play them well.....For my first time behind the camera I want to do a documentary on Gay Student-Athletes....but this is my problem, I dont know any. I am applying for a few grants and will enter the documentary in a few film festvals....If there are any Gay Student-Athletes, out or not please contact me @ Adisoc007@msn.com. I would love to tell your story.

Tripod.com is systematically shutting down sites that hold stories. I know of at least five sites that have been shut down without explaination or response to e-mails.

Dewey you are blazing a trail of raw emotion that takes the
reader on a roller coaster of feelings. Whatever the readers sexual preference you have shown all (young and old) the emotions felt growing up. I recall the fear of being gay and the fear of being found out - living every day praying I could change or find someone to love. Every reader should find the hope buried deep in this story and always hang on. For the teens out there there is hope never give up. Keep up the good work Dewey your ability in story telling is fantastic.

For me, reading it was especially painful since it hit way too close to home. I've been out of a relationship for almost three weeks now, and I've been doing everything in my power to avoid dealing with my emotions concerning it (it helped somewhat that as a result of the breakup I was forced to move back to Ohio from California...but not much). Reading Chapter Two was, in reflection, re-living the breakdown of my relationship...with one obvious exception (those of you who read Chapter Two know how it ends...that didn't happen to me). I don't know what to do...I feel terrible that I caused my ex so much pain, and I'm angry at myself for not working at the relationship to repair the damage. I want to take the first steps toward repairing our friendship, but my ex isn't ready to yet. I feel bad...I still have strong affections for him - stronger than I ever imagined they would be - and it's agonizing for me to hear him break down and cry over the phone. Can you guys help me out? My story doesn't seem to have the direction "Brian and Pete" is going, and I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance, guys...I would appreciate any pearls of wisdom you can offer. Take care. :-)
