I was hoping for a specialized Assistant Director who would do really do five things:

1. Lead the set crew
2. Develop set designs
3. Stage manage on production nights
4. Help with blocking and character development
5. Rehearsal prompt

... all of which is a huge, huge time commitment.

No one really stepped forward to do the whole job, but James "Ox" Chandler stepped forward to be our stage manager and set crew leader. The two of us together will develop the set design. James is a backstage veteran of ALL of our productions and was most recently the stage manager for A Christmas Carol. He's also come up with really good ideas - such as the lowering the tombstone and streetlight from the overhead battens AND he's volunteered for really crummy jobs like bringing our smelly mattress to the landfill (p.u.) His brother, Thomas, is also planning on getting time off from work and doing Set Crew.

As for helping with blocking and character development, and rehearsal prompting that job is still open. It does go under the less glorious Rehearsal Prompter job title - but is still a good way to break into working backstage and directing.

Crew application deadline is Wed 1/22. Crews will be announced the next day. I'm short on Props crew, and still don't have anyone who has given in an application for the Props Master or Publicist jobs.

Short question ... long answer.

There ya go.
