Subject: Fallen Angel (Part I)

I stare off into the night sky
Watching the stars fill
The darkening horizon

They appear
Like specks of diamonds
Scattered in the soil

As the light of the moon
Shines down onto my
Upturned face

I know the dreams
That ache in my heart

Have been tossed away
Into the night
They disappear
Like thieves
Caught in the light


The autumn leaves brush
Across my chest
The leaves tumbling
In the hands of
The wind

I gaze into the light
Of the radiant moon

I think of the
Sweet angel
That graced this
Innocent heart

I mended her broken
Wings

I lost a piece of
My heart

I placed it in the
Folds of the feathers
That surrounded her soul
Protecting her from the onslaught
Of human touch

That part of my heart I used
To mend her earth bound soul
Lifting those delicate wings
Was lost

In the onslaught of the night


I feel the
Night winds
That Lifted that heart
That had seen too much

Of the human torment
That binds our souls
To this world

The night wind
Brings a chill
To my heart

I never have felt this strong
The love that is in my soul
Rings true

But it only sings in my
Dreams that beckon me
To follow them into
The twilight

I stand apart
As the wind
From her spreading wings
Pushes us apart

She has found the
Way to the heavens that
Call out her name

She reaches out
With her hardened heart
Her delicate skin
Brushes my wind
Torn Face bringing a peace
Into my soul

My mind races
For the thoughts
That pours out from
My crying heart
From the guilt
Of loving
A Tortured soul
