She Abides in My Heart


Through the storm I feel, I see
a vision of a beautiful,
powerful woman.

Unlike any I've known,
her wisdom, her power, her love
she will share with any man who dares.

In my visions I feel this love,
as powerful as a prairie storm
no man has ever experienced;
as mighty as a river
no man has ever navigated
in light canoe or sleek kayak;
as gentle as a Summer breeze
over flowered meadows
no man has ever dreamed;
as shape-shifting as waves
upon a sandy shore
no man has ever walked;
as pure as crystal waters
from a mountain spring
no man has ever tasted;
as soft as a bed of moss
no man has ever slept upon.

I can feel her now
as I walk out after the storm,
as the freshness of the air;
arriving with the emerging sun
to greet my heart,
to share a day,
in paradise.

She will go, I know,
to gift a hungry world waiting;
with the power to change
how a man sees life.
I see her go,
without sense of loss
for she abides in my heart
and I in hers.
