Admiring the view


I saw how it shone, the fabric covering
draped over her shoulders,
so easy to see why he painted her
she was beautiful under that light.

And I read how he’d loved her to death
but It could have been he,
while she gave the same in return
on that night she decided to stay.

Her eyes, knowing through his words
what she saw the first time,
to recall her own view to compare
her hair by strand, is so lovely.

Yes, watching your face almost staring,
while you ask am I troubled,
or possibly lost in a distant allure,
knowing all I can say, is I am!
