Subject: Melancholy post announcement

Firstly I would like to say how inspiring it is to see so
many of you posting for the Friday theme nights.

The quality of work is excellent, and provides a great
atmosphere in which to write and post.

As some of you know, I have been asking poets here to read
through the Friday night theme posts and select one piece
which stands out in some way to you personally.
The result of this choice is then mailed to me during the
week following the closing date of this post, which is the
Friday following post night.
I then count the votes, and the piece with the most is then
placed on a page at my web site.

The piece that has been selected by you for the last post
is "Melancholy waters" by Raphaela.
It was a close vote, also the response for that weeks post
attracted a higher number of responses to the previous post.
This was encouraging as it seems to indicate that there are
a number of you that find reading objectively and choosing
a poem for this a useful exercise.
Personally I believe that this kind of reading is a great way
of becoming aware of other styles and approaches towards
many elements of creative writing.
As long as I receive sufficient votes for these nights I will
continue running the selection.
The theme nights will continue regardless.
I would like to congratulate Raphaela regarding her post
for the melancholy theme, I will be asking her permission
to add this piece to my site.

I Would also like to say that due to work pressures ect
that I have not been able to give the board as much time
this week as it deserves.
I do however, and will continue to do so, read every post
that appears on this board.
Time for writing has also been sparse, hence my own
lack of work to put here.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I still have a lot
of reading to do here, and I would like to thank all of
you for that.

Rafael
