If I smile too maybe it wont hurt
I’ll get used to the pain out of sight
Reassured you never loved me

Yesterdays we laid together for a while
My tears watered each new seed
I still nurture these two as they grow
One you discarded can never

No longer will I dress in darker shades
Now able to be away from you
Looking back how pitiful I became
Until my freedom intervened

Invisible bruises heal inside over scars
You cannot touch me anymore
Time will teach me to shine brightly
And be the child I always was
