Are you kidding?? I totally love this! I don't take it personal. I attend a book club here and we get more heated than this! Ditto the taking it personal thing. It's just so much fun to "have a discussion"! :)
>You wanna see a movie with really BAD dialect???? See the Book of Mormon movie!!! Don't even get me started there!!!!!!!!!!

>what I'm trying to say is that the point of the

I agree, which makes it even more interesting to me. It was obvious that there were crimes. The sheer fact that a young child had to die just because they wouldn't go get medicine that could have easily saved him was a crime. But that was the price they were willing to (sadly) pay. And I think Shyamalan wants you to see that. The idea that these people created this town because of the loss of their loved ones in the past and yet they are willing to risk their own loved ones now to maintain their way of life. Sad.

Absolutely But they will do what works. I'm not saying it's good, just what they did. Wouldn't it be better to motivate by love or praise but that wouldn't have made for a very excting movie! :)

If it was,
>they wouldn't even HAVE a Quiet Room for him. They'd
>just let him run wild doing whatever it is he wants to
>do. But they don't. They punish him when he does bad
>things.
Lots of parents who think their children are perfect will still give them punishment. And they probably knew that he needed a time out place but I think that the fact that he had a mental illness made them more likely to excuse certain actions, like going into the woods for instance. They obviously knew he was but they weren't punishing him for it.
>"I do not
>care for extreme left or extreme right politics."
Amen, sister.

"I just don't think he succeeded. " It's cool. I haven't thought this much about a movie in a while! I definitley think it was better than unbreakable or signs but not as good as Sixth Sense. He has had a lot to live up to. He is currently writing a screen play for The Life of Pi. Don't know if you've read it but it's a fantastic book and I am terrified that someone wants to put it to a movie. But I think he could pull it off. We'll see.

We should see more controversial movies! :) Absolutley! See the Book of Mormon movie so we can bash it together!!!!
