Kiersten,
I love your fed ex boy story. That is classic. And you are not shallow in the slightest, nor do I think you should feel bad about not calling him back. A man with a bachelors degree who just wants to drive a truck or sit in a post office the rest of his life does not belong with you - both of you would be extremely unhappy (take it from someone very ambitious who married a man with no ambition). And I think not calling him back is a good way to send the signal, especially after he was dumb enough to act like you were on a voice recognition basis. What's up with that??

I currently have a Questar gas man from my singles ward pursuing me. Seriously. Do these men not have any concept of leagues? Not trying to be snotty or anything, but this is a reality of life just like the fed ex boy not fitting with Kiersten who has a masters. I am never going to be happy with a man who checks gas meters for a living. But he seems to think we'd be perfect for each other. So I've been evading his calls and texts . . . we'll see if I can get up the nerve to tell him we should just be friends at church today.

By the way, for what its worth I'll tell you my approach with blind dates: if at all possible, I like to do lunch dates or middle of the week dinner dates. And I drive myself. That way, you have an easy escape and the duration of the date (especially if its for lunch) is very limited. You don't want to be stuck with someone for 5 hours if its horrible. And I agree with the others on liking blind dates alone rather than with friends.

Isn't dating FUN?!?! :)
