I also did canned beets with Ruby. Sometimes I would find something and think, why not?

I have found that if I kept/keep offering foods to Roo, even when she rejected them, often several months later she would LOVE them. I try to never say words like "yucky", or, "I don't think you'll like this."

Now that she is older, if she wants to try some of my spicey salsa, or a pickle or an olive or some garlic or an onion (you know, something that instinctively I think "She is not going to like this") I say, "Okay! It is salty! You can try some." or "Okay! It is spicey, you can try some," and I'm surprised by how often she'll say, "It's yummy mommy! Try some more?" ;-)
