Hi guys,
I have all kinds of great excuses, we moved, we've had to get wood for winter, we're setting up new services for Britt....hmmmm I've been reading some very fun books that I highly recommend--they're candy for the eyes (mind?). A series by Jasper Fforde Starting with the Eyre Affair (a little bit of language but confined to one area of the book) They're detective novels, but the twist is the detective (Thursday Next) is a literary detective. She jumps into books and takes care of bad guys that are trying to mess up the plots--in the first one, it's Jane Eyre. The other books in the series that I've read are: Lost in a Good Book (so far my favorite), and Something Rotten (Hamlet actually comes to "our" world and is annoyed with his dithering, but then comes to grips with it--subplot).
Anyway and if you love absurdity combined with profundity, his Jack Spratt books are fun too. I think there's only two and I've only read The Big Over Easy. A detective investigation of Humpty Dumpty's Death. It's a little over the top at first, but by the end....well I liked it anyway. Well my little one is getting very tired of me ignoring him. Love you! Chiska
