I thought it was a fairly well written letter, I think that he says some things that can ring true, such as the idea that

" 'no truly LDS person could vote for John Kerry.' Such an attitude, which is unfortunately prominent in our culture, cannot be reconciled with the church's official position on political questions, which is nonpartisan."

I think it is important to recognize and validate that democrats in the church are rare, and that one who is democrate and LDS may often feel disapproved of--and that truly it should not be that way, exactly for the reason he gives which is that the church is nonpartisan.

BUT, and this is a big but, it totally irrates me when Democratic Liberals take their assumed moralistic high road with the attitude that blankets their political standing as the only true *compassionate* political partisanship out there. And I hate the term "compassionate conservative" because it emphasizes the opposite that most conservatives are not compassionate, which if you ask me is complete B.S.

And, hypocritically, I will admit that just as the liberal democrats assume they have the monopoly on being truly humanitarian, I also have a general blanket belief that most all liberal democrats are morally corrupt in their political views (strongly emphasizing movements that legalize abortion and gay marraige, etc.) and that every single democratic candidate I have ever know trys to parade around as a "man of the people" when in reality they have their disgusting wealth and will do most anything for the popular vote.

Having said that--can you guess who I'll be voting for this year? ;-)
