Hikaru no Go: 9/10
This is great so far. It has a lot of the same appeal that Initial D has, although I think it has potential to stay good longer. Initial D lost a little something when Takumi's interest in driving became complete and you knew he was gonna win just about every race. Where do you go from there? HikaGo has the advantage of being able to show Hikaru constantly improving. Best character: the shougi guy, or maybe Sai.
Infinite Ryvius: 6/10
This was just barely good enough to keep watching. People said it was gonna bet better, but I didn't really notice that it did. It just stayed kind of slow, and the dramatic parts didn't usually move me. I actually thought the last 2 episodes were among the best, despite all the "what the hell"s I heard from the audience. Best character: the person in the dinosaur costume(s).
Samurai Deeper Kyo: 4/10
It wasn't incredibly horrible, but I pretty much stopped watching it after 10 episodes or so. I'd watch an episode here and there, and I watched the last one. There were too many characters for much character development, the fights were lame, the dialogue was often dumb, and the plot was confusing and boring. The ending was cliched to the point of hilarity. Best character: Yukimura.
Fruits Basket: 9/10
Almost worth a 10. Great balance of humor and drama, excellent character development of the main characters with cool side characters. The songs fit the anime perfectly. Parts of the last 2 episodes were hard to swallow, but I loved them anyway. Best character: wow, I don't know. Hana? Shigure? So many great characters.
X: 6/10
This was ok, but I stopped watching it so I could go home early and do homework. =( I can't think of anything especially good or bad about it, probably because I didn't watch enough of it. Best character: That guy... with the hat? The one who liked the pissed-off chick.
Gravitation: 5/10
It seemed like it could have been decent, but I stopped watching it because Shuichi gave me a headache. Whine whine whine, spaz spaz cry. The other characters weren't very interesting. I didn't like the music much either, but it was ok. Best character: um... Yuki I guess.
I, My, Me! Strawberry Eggs: 7/10
Yeah, everyone here seems to not like it because of the date-sim plot and gratuitous fanservice. But I thought the plot was funny, and the fanservice doesn't bother me. The characters were fairly well developed and interesting even if they were stereotypes to some extent. I still have 2 more episodes of this to watch though, since I've been watching it on my own time. Best character: Mirror Man (sorry Grannie).
Saiyuki: 5/10
This had some funny parts, but overall it wasn't that great. The fights were as bad as Kyo's, and the plot and characters were only slightly more interesting. I stopped watching this a long time ago due to its being at the end of the schedule. Maybe it got better, but I doubt it. Best character: Jeep?
