It's kinda weird, but for some reason I originally thought it was insane senseless type comedy from the reviews I'd heard of it. So I didn't think I'd like it that much 'cause I'm actually a bit tired of that sort of comedy. However, it's not that sort of comedy at all. I'd describe it as more like "Tonari no Yamada-kun" except it has a normal anime art style and is about a group of high school girls instead of a family. It's more cute than it is funny, but it's very enjoyable. :)
My favorite character is the shy girl (I forget her name right now).

Yes, you should.

Hmmm... I think it's up at #2 for must watch. Azumanga Daioh is #1 currently (since I've only seen 8 episodes so far). ^O^

My theory for Wolf's Rain is that the good episodes are any ones that Darcia-chicken-feather-head (you need to have seen the show to get that) appears in. It's sort of like the best episodes in Bebop being the ones about Spike.
At least for me the first wow episode was the one where he showed up. And since then almost every time he shows up the plot takes an unexpected twist. ^_^ Of course there are other interesting characters, too, but oddly enough mostly the non-wolf characters. O.O;
Lately he's been showing up quite a bit. :)

Well, I'm not sure this one can be considered passe 'cause it's so outlandish. ^O^

You need to watch more. ^O^ At least till you get to one of the more major fights. In particular the one where Naruto sorta loses it. The animation for the part where he lost it is just amazing. O.o;
Overall, I don't consider it one of the best series ever (like I'd say WHR is, and possibly Azumanga Daioh), but it is definitely entertaining and addictive. They may not have the art of cliff-hanging mastered as well as the Initial D people did, but they do a pretty good job of it. :)

I'm not sure what you found funny. O.O; I hardly remember the soda machines.
