Uhm...they come to cons because we pay them A LOT of money to come. And also not "so many" directors come to the states. Regardless, my point still stands...Anime is generally made for the Japanese. That would imply that Japanese voices are the original intent. I did mention that foreign sales is starting to become a considerable amount (> 20%), but at the same time, I'm fairly sure they don't think about the entire world when they make it (although I'm sure there are some).

I mean...if you asked Miyazaki who Spirited Away was for, he'd say Japanese Children. Actually I think read something about how he made it because he saw his granddaughter and her friends watching anime and he wanted to make something for them..something "fun" and "cute" or something.

And I'm sure the anime creators would care too if A) they understood English and B) they were aware of it. I'm fairly sure most are fairly unaware what goes on. Even if they did hear it...they don't understand it. If they did understand English, I'm fairly sure some of them would cringe.I mean...Fox's Escaflowne...you mean to tell me Shoji Kawamori would like that? :-P
