Actually, I don't think this is as applicable as you might think. If they really didn't give a damn, why would so many anime directors come to US anime conventions? I would think the fact that they have American fans, who like their work a lot even though it wasn't exactly meant for them (and thus they don't get everything) would just flatter them MORE.

And aside from that, I do in fact know one creator. Tomm Hulett, who would be...creator of Mythri. And my boss. (www.teamxkalibur.com if you're bored sometime.) And while I can't say for sure (because I've never bothered to use my mindreading powers on him), I think it's pretty clear that he would care if the Japanese liked it, or if the Germans liked it...he'd probably care if the Martian translation got horribly butchered. It's just..."hey, don't you DARE do that to MY work!"

(Yes, I know I just got done pointing out that the creator isn't solely responsible. Doesn't affect what I said up there...if someone messed with the game balance (which is my job), and ruined it...Tomm would still care. And so would I.)
