Regardless of it is "better" in the eyes of some I am about original no matter what. I'm sure there are many people who honestly like dubs and think they are better...an improvement. Now before I say anything further, I said earlier that that's ok...live and let live. They are free to like it. However to me, no matter how much 'better' it is...it's not the original. I mean hell, if they brought out Cyborg Kuro Chan and made it good and I actually enjoyed it.

Regardless of that it still isn't the original vision. Sadly, the annoying POS is. I do see what you're doing and although the changes can make things better, in my eye they are just that..changes. A good example would be if they scanned the Mona Lisa, cleaned up the colors, added some light, etc. and made it "appear" better. Although it looks better, will I appreciate it anymore? I don't think I would. I appreciate Leonardo da Vinci original.

Oh trust me I've brought this up a number of times on our AMV forum. Generally when there are massive flames and bitching about people's videos (videos that are awesome). Basically AMVs boil down to us taking SOMEONE ELSE'S music and SOMEONE ELSE'S footage and creating something that's sort of creative :). Given I am downplaying it (strange since I make them) since we ourselves have our own visions and try to create them...similar to that of an artist.

The big difference in AMVs and dubbed anime is that dubbed anime is being distributed as the work itself. Dubbed Bebop and Raw Bebop is well..to a degree the same thing in the states. An AMV is taking someone else's work and creating your own, however NOT the calling it the same thing. A new creation in itself (now don't take the word "new" the wrong way since it is other ppls songs and footage). AMVs are sort of their own entity in which our tools are other people's work and melding them. We don't ever say things like "This AMV IS Cowboy Bebop" or whatever. In a dubs case, that is what is going on...a rework of something while calling it the same...and IMO it's not the same. Wow...I don't think I'm making sense..I should stop.
