PM Assignment1
Introduction:
In the UK construction Industry there has been an increasing use of (Executive) Project Managers, in relation to the procurement of construction work. Much of this demand for the use of Project Managers' services is client led. Project Managers must therefore continue to develop 'best practice' and be available in appropriate organisations in order for this tread to continue.

Aims:
To provide an opportunity for students to identify and utilise information, data and ideas from the study of project management thinking and to relate these areas to practice.

To further develop the critically review the characteristics of project management in a logical, coherent manner.

Task:
You are employed in a Construction Consultancy in a senior capacity. You have been given the responsibility of producing a feasibility study report to consider the possibility of setting up an 'independent' Project Management consultancy on behalf of the Consultancy.

Evaluate the benefits of such an Executive Project Management service. Consider also the skills and competencies that ypu would need in relation to the provision of this particular service and relistic issues in relation to the implmentation of such a development.

Submission:
1.The submission should not exceed a maximum of 2500 words.

2.All submissions should be typed double space, on A4 paper, and presented in an appropriate cover sheet and be suitably bound. Work should include full referencing and bibliographic citations as appropriate.

3.The submission should be in report form with the Registry submission form. Registry will not accept the assignment without the submission form, which will be used to provide proof of receipt.

4.The submission from each student must be his/her own work. All students are reminded that the University publishes notes for students' guidence concerning cheating and plagiarism. Submission identified as being the result of cheating or plagiarism will fail.

Assessment of Criteria:
1.Ability to develop claer, reasoned assumptions in relation to the task and to identify the key issues in relation to a reasonable set of assumptions made. 20%

2.Quality of analysis in relation to the benfits of this potential new services together with a perception/evaluation of skills and competencies required.50%

3.Quality of argument substantiating(or otherwise) the Development of possible venture.20%

4.Style and quality of report, including references and bibliography. 10%
