 Ramierez painfully picked himself up, rubbing his forehead blearily as Lina asked her question.

"Good question," he replied. "Shade, you all rig--oh." His voice trailed off as he saw him still kneeling over Paige, in some sort of trance. He knew etter than to interfre. Paige was i bad shape...one slip on shade's part and she might become a vegetable. All they ould do is wait...ad protect the two of them in the meantime...

Then he noticed th rumbling. It was obviously something mechanical--not quite mecha-sizes, but still big enough. And it wasn't far away...

Ramierez motioned for everyone to shut up. "Ok, I need two volunteers," he whispered. He wanted to know exactly what they were up against here...

Meanwhile...

Shade found himself floating through a dark void. he was floating through in his regular form, looking elactly like his real-world self...he woulf normally use his aspect, but he knew Paige was unfamilar with psionic powers--it might freak her out even more than she was already. better to show up looking as normal as possible.

Now, he thought, floatign through hre murky, stormy bind, already wracked by the toll her powers were taking on her, where IS she?...
