As Simon ran along, he caught a bright flash of sunlight reflecting off of metal. Before he could react, however, the sniper fired, the thing blue laser beam hitim him in the leg, pasing cleanlt through his right thigh just above the knee. As he collapsed to the ground, four soldiers mounted on, tall, two-legged, green-scaled dinosaur-like riding lizards. came out of the brush. They wore Deep maroon uniforms, with the golden rooster on their coats of arms indicating that they belonged to Lord Eugene. They surrounded the wonded Simon, weapons trained on him.
"Well, well..." One of them, a femaly, slid down from her mount and sauntered over to Simon, holding a pair of energy restraints in one hand, and an force whip in the other. "We've been looing for you for some time. Yo've caused Lord Eugene no end of trouble--I'm sure he'll have fun repaying you later..." She smiled cruelly. "Now...will you come long quietly--"
She suddenly cracked the whip less than a inch from his face, the energy burning him slightly.
"--or will we have to do this the hard way?"
The others lughed--none of them noticing that there were a lot of other people not far away...
A short distance away...
Ramierez blinked at Liete's words. Could HQ have sent her along as some sort of backup? If so, why wasn't he and Shade informed. Anw while they were at it--where the hell WERE they?--
"Eh...hello...Liete," he replied, confused. "I'm--"
Suddenly he heard the loud crack of laserfire somewhere behind him. Instantly, his pistol was out again, as he scnned for the source of the noise--back beyond the group. He started to run--then he remembered Liete. Looking at he uncertainly, the back towards the noise--then at her again...
Finally he sighed and motioned for hre to folow. "C'mon..." then he started into the trees, giving her time to catch up.
