Ceil, the young raven-haired girl waho was acting as Unit Two's Operator on duty, had received Akira's message. "Something wrong with Michelle?? Aw crap....umm, stand by..."
Looking over to the otherside of CIC, she spotted the person she was looking for, and hurried over...
Lucca, Ness, and the team from Star Cross Labs had been trying for hours to reestablish the contact they'd briefly had with the missing prototype cyborg and the lost members of Unit Three.
"All right, folks--I think we're breathin' again," Ness grinned as they finally got a clear signal...
Juts then, the other operator walked up to Lucca, and whispered Akira's message to her. By the time she'd finished, Lucca was considerably paler.
"Oh man...I was afraid of this..." SHe adjusted her glasses, a nervous habit of hers. "I'm sorry, Dr. Faust, but we've another crisis on our hands....Ness, can you take over for me here? I've gotta link up with Unit Two--FAST..."
Ness looked at her for a moment, concerned--then nodded. "Don't worry about it. We can handle things from here. Get goin'."
"Thanks." Then Lucca turned to Ceil, the Operator. "Tell Akira and the others that I'll be there in"--She made a quick mental calculation--"ten minutes."
ANd with thah, she hurried downstairs to the lab, hoping she wouldn't be too late...
Meanwhile, Ness had resumed trying to call the missing unit. "Hey, Unit Three...this is Ness at CIC. Anybody home? What's your status?"
