Author: Rippers' Girl Disclaimer: I do not own these characters, they are the property of Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy & UPN. L I simply am doing this for fun, and non-profit use. Feedback: Please tell me what you think -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This routine continued for the next couple of weeks. One Friday night Buffy decided to invite all of her friends for dinner. While she was cooking her friends sat around the living room talking. "I like this new Buffy," Anya said. "She's much more fun to be around." "As bad as that sounded," Willow added, "I'd have to agree. She does seem a lot happier. She's getting her life together and I think the fact that she and Giles talk regularly is helping her to cope with everything." "I'm happy about the new Buffy too but it still seems like part of her is missing," Xander put in. "I think you're right Xander," Tara said quietly. "She's doing better but it's like part of her is still really sad about something." Dawn just looked at them all. They really couldn't figure out why Buffy was sad? She didn't think they were that oblivious. She decided to speak up, "She misses Giles." "Well, of course she does," Willow replied, "but she talks to him every week." "It's not the same though," Dawn said. "She misses having him here." "Well we all miss having Giles here but we're coping," Xander said. "Yeah," Dawn replied, "but you and Anya have each other and Willow and Tara have each other. Buffy has me but it's not really the same." "Yes, but Honey," Willow said. "Giles and Buffy were never together like me and Tara or Anya and Xander." Just then Buffy walked in to announce that dinner was ready. As the others went into the dining room Dawn just shook her head wondering if they'd ever figure it out. Saturday Night Buffy ran through the door to her house at 11:59 pm. She usually tried to cut patrol short Saturday nights so she would be home in time for Giles' call but tonight there had been more vamps then usual and she had been afraid she would miss his call. At exactly 12:00 the phone rang. "Hello," she said answering the phone before the first ring had finished. "Hello, Buffy," her favorite voice said. "How was patrol tonight?" "Lots of vamps," she replied, "but they're all dust now." "Are you all right?" Giles asked concerned. "I'm fine," she replied loving the fact that Giles was still concerned about her. "There we're a lot but not too many for me to handle." "Well that's good," Giles said. "Hold on just a moment." "OK," Buffy said. She heard a muffled female voice in the background and wondered who it could be. Then she heard Giles say, "I'll be off the phone in a moment, `Liv. Then you can use it." Buffy thought her heart was going to stop. He's back with Olivia?! I know she didn't want to come back here. She must be willing to give it a shot since he's there in England. Oh, no! Now he'll never come back. Actually he probably would if I asked him to, but he's done so much for me and he deserves to be happy. "Listen, Giles, I've got to get going. It's been a long day and I'm tired so I'll talk to you next week." "All right, Buffy. Good night." After she'd hung up she went to bed and cried herself to sleep. She didn't stay asleep for very long though because that night the nightmares came back. The next morning she got up and made breakfast in bed for Willow and Tara. It had become sort of a tradition. She wold make them breakfast in bed and she and Dawn would catch up over breakfast together. When she brought it up to them though they looked at her worriedly. She had bags under her eyes and they were red like she had been crying. Also, the spark that had seemed to have come back over the last few weeks was missing. "Are you ok, Buffy?" Willow asked gently. "Yeah, I just didn't get much sleep," she replied dully before she left. "I wondered what happened?" Willow said. "Do you think Giles forgot to call last night?" "No," Tara replied. "I remember hearing the phone ring around 12 so it had to have been him." They exchanged worried glances before starting on their breakfast. All week Buffy continued to get more and more depressed. She kept up with her job and Dawn and dinner but she did it all with a lack of enthusiasm. Except when it came to Dawn she tried to muster up at least a little because she didn't think it was fair to Dawn. As she was lying in her bed Friday night she started thinking. What's the point in doing all of this if Giles won't ever come back? I mean I feel bad about doing this to Dawn but without Giles my life just seems pointless. Plus Spike just won't leave me alone. You'd think he'd get the fact that we're never going to be together. The next night she went on patrol again. She was just sort of wandering not really caring if she ran into any vamps or not. Then all of sudden Spike was standing in front of her. "Hello, pet." "I am not your pet, Spike. Just leave me alone," she said dully and started to walk away. "That's it, Slayer. I'm tired of this crap. I want you and I want you now." All of a sudden Buffy felt herself flying through the air. She landed when her back struck a tombstone. She fell and couldn't move. Oh, my God! It hurts so bad. Glancing up at Spike's face she thought, He's going to kill me. I should be more upset about that but I just can't seem to care. "Now that I've got you where I want you," Spike said standing over her. "I'll do what I've wanted to do for a while now." And with that he ripped off both her shirt and her pants. Oh, God! Oh please no! I don't care if he kills me but please don't let him rape me. "Spike, no! Please don't!" she cried helplessly. "That's great, pet. I've always wanted to here you beg." And with that he lowered her pants and crawled on top of her. He thrust into her with all his power. He did it again and again. Oh, God. Please kill me now. When he'd finally orgasmed he sat up and said, "I've always wondered what it would be like to fuck a Slayer." "Please just kill me," Buffy begged, tears streaming down her face. "Not yet," Spike said. "I'm not finished with you." He then proceeded to fuck her up the ass. Somewhere in there Buffy managed to pass out from the pain. When Spike was finished he got up, looked down at Buffy's broken and bleeding body, laughed and walked away into the night, lighting a cigarette as he went. Willow slowly woke up to a ringing sound. What's that noise? Oh, it must be the phone. She turned over and looked at the clock. It said 12:01. Where's Buffy? How come she's not answering the phone? She reached over and picked up the phone. "Hello?" she said groggily. "Hello? Willow is that you?" "Giles?" she replied. "Yeah it's me." "Where's Buffy?" he asked. "I don't know," Willow answered. "I was surprised she didn't answer the phone. Hold on while I go see if she's in her room." While Willow went to go check on Buffy, Giles paced around his flat in London. He was worried about Buffy and couldn't shake this feeling of foreboding he felt. Meanwhile back in Sunnydale, Willow had gone to Buffy's room and checked the rest of the house just to make sure Buffy wasn't around anywhere. Having not found her anywhere she returned to her room and picked up the phone. "Giles? I can't find Buffy anywhere. She must still be out on patrol." "I don't know, Willow," Giles replied. "I have a bad feeling." "Me, too. She'd never miss your call unless it was something really important. I'm going to call Xander and Anya and we'll go out and look for her and I'll call you back when we find out what's up" "Thank you, Willow. And please hurry." "We will." After Willow hung up with Giles she called Xander and quickly filled him in on what was happening. He said he'd be right over and that Anya would stay with Dawn while the three of them went and looked for Buffy. They all headed out with stakes, crosses, and holy water. They split up the cemeteries and agreed to meet back at the house in an hour. Xander was walking through his last cemetery getting more and more frustrated. I hope one of the girls has found Buffy. I hope nothing's happened to her. It was as he was thinking this last thought that he saw the body lying on the ground. Oh, God, no! Please not Buffy. He ran to the body. Oh, God. What happened to her? He quickly knelt down and checked for a pulse. Finally he found one. It was weak but it was there. Thank God she's alive. He quickly picked her up and rushed to the hospital. Willow and Tara arrived back at the house around the same time and were waiting for Xander when the phone rang. "Hello," Willow said picking it up. "Oh my, God! I'll call Giles and we'll be right there." She hung up the phone and turned to Tara. "Buffy's at the hospital. Xander said she was unconscious when he found her and she hasn't woken up yet." "I'll go get Dawn and Anya while you call Giles," Tara said. Willow picked up the phone again and dialed Giles' number. "Buffy?" he answered anxiously. "It's me Giles," she answered. "Did you find her?" he asked. "Giles," she said hesitantly. "Buffy's in the hospital. Xander found her and I guess she was hurt pretty bad because she hasn't woken up yet." "Dear Lord," he cried. "I'll be on the next flight to Sunnydale. I'll be there as soon as I can." Then he hung up the phone and started dialing the airlines. All through the night and all the next day the gang waited anxiously for either Buffy to wake up or for Giles to arrive. Only one person was allowed with Buffy at a time so they took turns staying with her while the rest either went home and showered and tried to get some rest or waited in the waiting room for their turn. It wasn't until close to 6 pm that Giles showed up at the hospital looking a little bit ragged. Willow, Anya, and Dawn quickly embraced him. Xander was in with Buffy at the moment and Tara had run down to the cafeteria to get drinks for everyone. "Where is she? Can I see her?" he asked urgently. It was then that Xander came walking down the hallway looking extremely depressed. When he saw Giles though his face brightened a little and he gave Giles a big hug. "Glad to see you, G-man." It showed just how upset Giles was about Buffy when he didn't mention anything about Xander calling him that. He just asked again, "Where's Buffy?" "I'll show you," Willow said as she led him down the hallway to Buffy's room. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ]
