Subject: New Dam ??????

Hello everyone. I'm new to the game and i'm steadily researching/playing/talking trying to understand as much as i can. I bred a new line the other day and came across a Dam horse i hadn't seen on any lists. **Star Light** was the name. I don't remember much as far as stats on it, though it had 2 double circles. Is it normal to see "new horses" periodically? Thanks for your help.
