Angel/Mark,

I am Richie Perez' former stable partner. Now, while I may not agree with every action or idea he has, he is a pretty good guy. He may get a little excited and angry when he feels he has been insulted though.

First of all congrats on your records for your location. While setting records is always a good thing, you certainly have a lot of room for improvement in this game. This is not meant to be an insult. It's just that the records you set at your local establishment are not very close to the records at any (or most) of the establishments around the US.

Now, one thing you will realize after playing this game for awhile is that the actual horses have very little to do with how good a player is. It really comes down to a matter of jockey skill. Once you get 2 jockey's of VERY similar ability racing each other, then the horses will play a bigger role in the outcome.

Let me give you an analogy: If you had the best set of golf clubs money could buy, and Tiger Woods was playing with a set of old rusty clubs from someones garage sale, who would win? Of course Tiger would win, because his skill level is superior enough to make the difference in clubs irrelevant. However put him against Ernie Els or Phil Mickelson with those bad clubs, and he'd probably lose. Well, this game is the same way and thats what a lot of the people who play this game just don't seem to understand. Not you necessarily, but many players who start playing this game and come to love it, like we all have. There is no shortcut to greatness in this game. Many new players will try to buy horses from the best players, thinking that they will be among the best if they get "the best horses".

So basically what I'm saying (Angel/Mark) is that you seem to be ahead of the learning curve for your location, but you have a long way to go before you are at the level of the guys/gals that have been playing this game for a year or so at locations like Chicago, St. Louis, New York, Maryland, and Milpitas.

Keep racing and I'm sure you will continue to set even better records. Just please stop the endless bickering back and forth on the message boards. It does not accomplish anything. Simply stated Richie's horses are very good. He was the first player in the U.S. to break the 2 minute barrier in the Super Dirt Grand Prix, and he did that with a first generation horse. That was the horse he used to start his line. He is a good racer, and a guy who means well if you just give him a chance.
