Well our goal was for you to win Little Miss Rehobeth and you did! Chasi, we are so proud of you no matter if you win or not! You've grown so much into a loving well mannered child. We are ALL going to be cheering for you but like you said if you don't win, "It was someone else's turn". You have such a good attitude about it. WOW...what a great day! I would like to take this time to thank all the parents and queens who came to the Get Acquainted Party at the Fun Zone. It was so much fun and I enjoyed getting to know all of you better. To those who missed it...you were all missed and we will see you at our next event.

Good Morning All,
Wanted to share the good news, Haley was nominated by her sorority for Miss Auburn Homecoming 2008. Each organization at Auburn nominates a representative and then they are all interviewed. From the first interview the field is narrowed down to 20. The 20 are interviewed by a panel of facility and from the 20 comes the top 5. Well last night about 11PM we received word from Haley that she is in the top 5.

In the coming weeks she will campaign for the honor along with her sorority sisters and "campaign staff". They will be publishing flyers, making pins, Haley will be giving speeches to all the organization promoting her platform of World Hunger. Please keep Haley in your prayers because her studies are enough to keep her stressed but this is such an honor and she is so excited.

Many thanks to the forestry queens who participated in this weekend's event to benefit the Barbour County Humane Society. It was called, "Beauties and the Beasts," and it was a tremendous success!! The girls all brought pet supplies to donate to the shelter, and we spent time socializing the animals. The following Forestry queens were in attendance:

These dresses are in EXCELLENT condition.The sizes range from 4-8 (medium). We really need to sell these dresses. Please spread the word. I would just like to say a big "CONGRATULATIONS!" to my beautiful daughter Taylor for bringing home the title of Petite Miss Alabama Forestry! You FINALLY got that "round crown"! For some of you that may not know, Alabama/United States Woodlands is the sister pageant to the Alabama Forestry Pageant. This double header pageant will be held in August 2008 (location and exact date to be set in stone by week’s end). I have time for one more preliminary pageant to win your way paid to the big one! I am now directing the Henry County Woodlands prelim!!! It will be held July 19, 2008, location to be set in stone in the next couple of days…more than likely in the Dothan area. Please contact me at misshenrycowoodlands@yahoo.com or 334-333-1522 about the pageant. We will have Baby and Teeny Miss groups if at least three girls sign up and pay their entry fee in each group at least one full week before the pageant. Tiny Miss through Miss will have their way paid to the AL/US Woodlands Pageant. We will also have a Princess title being awarded and her way will be paid to the state pageant also!!!!

Join a winning system!!! THREE of the six category winners at AL Forestry this past weekend came from my Greater Dothan system!!!!!

I just wanted to tell my beautiful daughter, Kaley Howard, congratulations for making top ten at state. As usual, you looked awesome. I am very proud of you. You had a lot of tough competition, and still placed in the top 10. That is awesome. (especially for your first state pageant).You are a beautiful person on the inside and out and I am proud that God gave me the honor of being your mother. I love you with all my heart!!!!

Abigail: My sweet angel! I know you have tried for Forestry for three years…but I truly believe your time will come!! My Greater Dothan Queens are truly a special group and I wish them all the success and luck at state!!! This is what we have been waiting for since February, and I know each one of you will make me proud no matter what happens! Every Queen has last minute things that they forget. Perhaps, an earring broke or you have grown more that expected when you tried on you suit. We have had many forestry girls come in this last week, just after they pulled their pageant things out from under the bed and it didn't fit. We can do last minute alterations and do ruch orders, so please let us know if we can help you with anything. I am at the shop every afternoon by at least 3 and will be there most nights, late...10-11 pm. And all day on Saturday. Hello Queens! We are so excited that the state pageant is right around the corner. We cannot wait to meet all of our beautiful contestants and see who our 2008 queens will be!!!

We wanted to mention some fun things that we typically do at the state pageant. A lot of people will decorate their hotel doors wishing their favorite contestant good luck. Keep in mind that you when you do this, you will need to use paint friendly adhesive to hang your decorations. If there is any damage to the hotel doors, you will be responsible for that.

ALSO, we like to let the host city know that the Alabama Forestry Pageant is IN TOWN....so each year we encourage everyone to paint/decorate their car windows! We have seen some REALLY neat ideas on this one and the hotel doors!!!

So, have fun and be creative!!! We cannot wait to see what neat things people come up with this year!!!

The First Annual Miss Circle City Forestry & Woodlands pagant was a great success!! Thanks to so many people helping us ot. To Kay & Carol, as always you came through for us. A big huge round of applause to you both. You two are like "peanut butter & jelly", it doesn't seem right to have one without the other. LOL!!! You are both so dedicated and it makes others strive to improve. Thank You Rachel and Sarah Catherine, you girls did an awesome job emceeing at the pageant. The doors of Enterprise Civic Center will open at 12:30. Interviews will start at 1:00. Registration will continue till 2:00. Interviews will be on a first come bases, but the Teen and Miss contestants will have priority because interview will be calculated in the overall score of these two categories. You can register at the door to do optional interview. We'll try to accommodate all contestants.
Tiny Miss category is for girls 4-5 years old. A girl younger than 4 years old may enter the Tiny Miss, but a girl can't turn turn 6 years old before June 1, 2008. The Little Miss is for girls 6 to 8 years old. You will be required to turn in a copy of your birth certificate at the state pageant.
You will not want to miss this pageant. Great prizes will be given to the winners.

The Miss Coffee County Pageants will be held on May 3rd at the Elba High School Auditorium. This is a closed pageant, open only to girls that reside and/or attend school in Coffee County. Little Miss and Miss will go on to compete at the Miss National Peanut Festival pageants in October. Categories are as follows: Future Little Miss (4-5, 6 year olds not in 1st grade), Little Miss (1st graders only), Petite Miss (2nd -6th graders), Junior Miss (7th-10th graders), and Miss (17-21 year olds). My daugher is planning to compete in this weekends pageant. We are new to this and I just wanted to make sure I understood times and ages correctly due to conflicting information I've received. According to the website registration is at 12:30 and interviews start at 1:00 and 1:45. Is the 1:45 interview time for the younger contestants competing in the optional category?

Regarding ages: the website says that Tiny is for ages 4-5 and Little Miss is for ages 6-8. However, my confusion is over the ages listed in the newspaper. The newspaper has Tiny for ages 4-5 but Little Miss is for ages 5-8. Is that a misprint or are older 5 year olds supposed to compete in the Little Miss portion.

Please help.

Hello everyone! I am working on setting up some mock interviews. The plan is to have a 3-5 minute interview with a 5 minute instant feedback session. THe Alabama Forestry Queens attended Arbor Day at the Capital in Montgomery, Alabama on Tuesday Feb. 26. IT was soo cold but sooo much fun! I have never been to the Capital before and I really enjoyed the tour. I am glad I got to have my first visit with all of my sister queens, Rachel, Sarah Catherine, Haley, Taylor, Hannah, Little Rachel! And of course with MS. CAROL!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for setting this event up for the queens. We love you and Ms. Kay very much!

Hello everyone! I wanted to introduce myself, my name is Doreena Angeloff and I am the director for Bibb, Hale, and Tuscaloosa Counties. I wanted to first say thank you to Kay and Carol....you ladies are AWESOME!! Thank you both for being so helpful. I also wanted to thank all the other directors that I have spoken with, you have all been so friendly and welcoming!

I wanted to take a minute to invite anyone looking for an upcoming prelim in the Tuscaloosa-Birmingham area (or just want to try something new) to attend my Bibb County Prelim on April 12, 2008. The pageant will be held at Vance Elementary which is just between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. Being that this is a new prelim, I am only accepting 10 contestants per age group!! I must admit that the response has been overwhelming!! So make sure you contact ASAP to hold your spot in the pageant.

I also have open titles availabe for Tuscaloosa County(Petite & Teen) and Hale County (Tiny & Miss). Please contact me at alsouthernmiss@aol.com for more information on these open titles!

Congrats to Chelsea Ingram, 2007 Little Miss AL Camellia (and former AL Forestry AND Woodlands state queen) for winning Kindergarten Class Beauty at Rehobeth.

Chasilyn Sawyers ¡V 2007 Little Miss US Woodlands and my Little Miss Greater Dothan Forestry 2008 was giving upper her Little Miss Rebel Overall title at this pageant. Last year, Chasilyn won the highest score in grades K-5 out of over 60 girls!!! She looked so beautiful in her white crowning dress!!!

Tomorrow, my Teen Miss Greater Dothan Forestry, Kaley Howard is competing for 8th grade class beauty at Rehobeth. Good luck to you Kaley!!!

Also, good luck to Bethany Lee, Jr Miss Alabama Timberland as she competes for 7th grade class beauty at Rehobeth!!!


At the same pageant, Amaris Sawyers, my 2008 Jr Miss Greater Dothan Forestry, is giving up her overall Jr Miss Rebel title where she won overall in grades 6-8 last year.

There were 86 girls competing in grades K-5 at this pageant!!!! As you can see from these huge numbers, we sure have some serious talent in the Forestry/Woodlands system¡Kbut we knew that already!! ƒº I am so super proud of all of these girls and wish them each congrats/good luck as the pageant season gets kicked up!!!!

As one final note, a special congrats goes out to my very own daughter, Abigail England, Petite Miss US Woodlands 2007 for winning 5th grade class beauty at Rehobeth!! I love you baby girl!! You are growing up so much and I am so, so proud of you!!!!

Congratulations to all of my new 2008 Greater Dothan Forestry & Greater Dothan Woodlands Queens!!! I think the judges had an incredibly hard job. The following girls were the ones who came out on top this past Saturday. Tiny - Miss will be making me proud at state this Summer! All of the contestants looked and did a beautiful job! January 12, 2008 at 3 p.m. Interviews will start at 9 a.m. We will crown after every third group as we know our little ones tend to get impatient.

GENEVA COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL, HARTFORD, AL

PHOTOGENIC, STAGE PRESENCE, VERBAL COMMUNICATION (PERSONALITY FOR BABY-TEENY) & BEST DRESS AWARDS IN EACH DIVISION!

INTERVIEW AWARD IN TEEN & MISS DIVISIONS! OPTIONAL INTERVIEW (AND AWARD) IN ALL OTHER DIVISIONS TINY THRU JUNIOR!

• A 1st and 2nd alternate will be named in each group and will be awarded a trophy and a gift. If for some reason there are exactly four girls in a group, we will not allow just one girl to be left out and have 3rd alternate trophies available. All participants will receive a “participant coupon” from Pageant Perfect Formalwear, along with a goody bag.

You are cordially invited to participate in Daleville's Christmas Parade. This year's parade will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 5:30 P.M. The parade will line up at 4:30 P.M. on Heritage Drive. The units will make their entrance from old Highway 134 into the A.M. Windham School parking lot and proceed Eastbound to their assigned number. A director will be located at the entrance. Do not enter off of Daleville Ave.

No candy will be thrown from any vehicle or float for children's safety.

There will be a Tree Lighting Ceremony following the completion of the parade in front of Daleville High School. Santa Claus will be in the HS cafeteria to talk to the children.

To enter, please fill out the registration form below, sign the disclaimer, and return it to the Daleville Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 688, Daleville, AL 36322 or fax 334-598-2333. The deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 4th. We are looking forward to receiving your entry!

Forms are now available for the 2008 Miss Wiregrass Forestry Pageant, a preliminary to the 2008 Miss Alabama Forestry Pageant. Information and forms can be found by visiting www.misswiregrass.com - click on Wiregrass Forestry Link.



We have beautiful crowns, custom banners, signature Miss Wiregrass Pageant Program parade blanket, Custom rolling bag, Custom crown case. All winners will receive their fees paid to the Alabama Forestry State Pageant in the summer of 2008 in Troy. Teen and Miss will receive one (1) night paid hotel expenses at state competition.



Teen and Mis will now compete in two new categories - Verbal and Portfolio. Visit www.misswiregrass.com to get detailed information.



Optional interviews are being offered to Tiny Miss thru Jr. Miss - but there are only a limited number of interview slots for this optional competition. It is not a mandatory part of the pageant for these divisions and scores are not part of the pageant scoring. Each interview will be 5 minutes with each judge and scoresheets will be given out at the conclusion of the pageant.

We will limit interview to all forms returned by Dec. 31st, 2007. The deposit will hold your spot - all fees are due by January 13th - no exceptions!

Miss Wiregrass Forestry will receive a $500.00 scholarship to the school of her choice once she competes competition at state. Must provide proof of enrollment.



All queens will compete at state, ride on the NPF parade in Nov. 2008, invite to attend the Miss Wiregrass Cruise in 2008, participate in the Wiregrass Children's Home events, assist in fundraiser pageant events, be a part of the Wiregrass Royalty Relay for Life Team. It is more that a crown and banner! It is an opportunity to be a part of a program that work throughout the year to promote and support various organizations.

We would like to take this time to thank all of those who were such a huge help yesterday at the Camellia Pageant.

First, Tammy Davis...thanks so much for handling getting the building yesterday and chasing down a key for the dressing rooms yesterday. You are awesome.

Trish...you know that we could never do without you at any of our pageants. Momma & Aunt Lovell...thanks for always doing the door for us...you two are awesome and we love you!!!

Madison & Abigail...you both did an outstanding job emceeing yesterday. Madison you are so beautiful but you are also one of the sweetest persons that we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Abigail...we have seen you grow so much over the past 2 years...keep up the great work. We love you both and are so glad that you are our queens this year.

Sirena...you are the best girl. I can always count on you to help with pictures and everything. We Love you!!!

Teen and Miss will compete in verbal communication. Once application is received and fees are paid, your topic will be given. Each contestant will have 60 seconds to speak on her topic. Attire for Verbal Competition will be interview attire.

Portfolio - Each Teen and Miss will submit a portfolio for judges review during interview. Each portfolio will need to include a cover sheet, copy of Bio sheet(s) and copy of verbal speech to be done at pageant.

It always so much fun to get together with my girls at every event but I was so proud of all of you for showing such a presence at the Auburn Forestry Alumni BBQ. Everyone at the event were so impressed with each and every one of you. You all make me smile both on the inside and out when I am around all of you.

Thanks to all of my Queens' parents for driving to Auburn this weekend and making the day so special for all of us. You are the best Mom's and Dad's and I am so glad that I have all of you supporting Forestry and Woodlands this year.

TAKE IT TO THE DEAD END (APPROX 10 MILES) TAKE A LEFT AND WATCH ROAD SIGNS AND TAKE #169 TO THE RIGHT (THERE SHOULD BE A CAUTION LIGHT) GO APPROX 9 MILES TO DUPREE’S CAR LOT IT WILL BE ON THE RIGHT. YOU WILL TURN LEFT (THE ROAD YOU TAKE IS DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM DUPREE’S) THIS ROAD WILL EVENTUALLY SAY MOOORE’S MILL ROAD. YOU WILL GO THROUGH THREE 4-WAY STOPS AND IMMEDIATLEY AFTER BYPASS YOU WILL TURN LEFT ON TO E. UNIVERSITY DRIVE, THEN TURN RIGHT ON SOUTH COLLEGE, THEN LEFT ON MAGNOLIA AVENUE…. CONGRATS, YOU ARE AT THE UNIVERSITY!! NOW PARK (MORE THAN LIKELY IN C SECTION) AND WALK DOWN DONAHUE STREET. IT SHOULD TAKE YOU STRAIGHT TO THE FORESTRY & SCIENCE BUILDING RIGHT BEFORE THE MEDICAL CLINIC.

The City of Daleville will caravan to the agplex arena in Ozark for the Kick off of Dale County Drug Free Week on Monday, Oct. 22. Reagan: Abigail and I wanted to say a big congrats on winning 2007 Little Miss National Peanut Festival. We were yelling loud for you!! You looked absolutely beautiful!!! For those of you who have never had the pleasure of meeting Reagan, she is one of the sweetest, most polite little girls you will ever come in contact with!! Spending a year with her and her family for a year during the 2006 Alabama Forestry reign, we were able to get to know them a little better. I definitely can see how she won the judges over in interview and in the pageant. It was really cool to see our friend (and our last year’s Taylor Queen), Taylor Bodiford, crown Reagan. Two great girls!! They said at the pageant that filling Taylor’s shoes would be hard, which is very true knowing her, but I believe Reagan is certainly up to the task!!! We will see you at Miss NPF to say a big congrats in person!

Dawn: I know you are so, so proud!!!! What an honor this has got to be for your family and Reagan!!! Now the year of FUN begins!!!

OF COURSE, we'd love to have you back doing Forestry after your year of Peanut is over!!! LOVE YA!!!!
