As I understand it Talabaya Kriya is a practice taught with 1st Kriya, which free's up the tongue for Kechari by wearing away the lingual frenum (the midline sheath of tissue under the tongue which restricts the tongue's movement).

I have heard that the term originally meant something else, so perhaps some do use it to mean simply rolling back the tongue.
