Sorry Kev- I'm not Hendrik, but I came across something that might help with this issue. It's an article from an old SRF magazine about the passing of Mohan Lahiri, who was a grandson of Lahiri Mahasaya. The article is written by Yoganandaji. It's obvious that this grandson of Lahiri Mahasayaji had great love and respect for Yoganandaji.

It's also interesting to note Ananda Lahiri's comments on the title Paramhansa.

On the Passing of Ananda Mohan Lahiri, Grandson of Yogavatar Lahiri Mahasaya
By Paramhansa Yogananda
(Self-Realization, Nov.-Dec. 1951)
(apologies for any offense this spelling of Guruji's name might cause some people- but that's how it was spelled in the magazine)

Nothing I can write could express my grief at the passing of my Ananda, in whom flowed the sacred blood of my guru's guru. He was my greatest spiritual supporter in India. Without him I feel Bengal is an empty place, which nothing can fill.

This, I now know, is why I could not go to India even though I have tried to do so for many years. I know that I was afraid of losing him before I reached there.

Ananda was an illustrious leader in my Ranchi School from its founding in 1919, teaching under the trees—both yoga and high school studies—along with me and others. Ananda was the first one who talked to me, all night, at Ranchi School during my last visit there—and awakened my love for it.

This is what led to the acquiring of the Ranchi School, through the great kindness of the present Maharaja Srish Chandra Nundy of Kasimbazar, India. I felt it was Yogavatar's Lahiri Mahasaya who used the sweet spirit of Ananda to persuade me to permanently acquire the Ranchi institution, which had been founded by me through the help of the most holy Maharaja Sri Manindra Chandra Nundy of Kasimbazar, father of the present Maharaja Sri Srish Chandra Nundy.

Ananda helped to create the first piping system for drawing water at Ranchi, which was a great help to the school boys, who no longer had the troublesome task of drawing water from the wells.

Ananda Mohan created a Panchavati ashram (an ashram by five trees growing together) at Ranchi, where he carried on his research work on Lahiri Mahasaya's life. He was a graduate of Calcutta University and was given the title of Paramhansa along with me by Sri Yukteswar Giriji (my Guru Preceptor).

He indirectly referred to this in a letter written to me last year: "Swami Sri Yukteswarji, the Guruji of Swami Yogananda honoured and gave him the very title of Paramhansa. Swami Sri Yukteswarji did this out of a specially significant spiritual inspiration while I was personally present, at Serampore in India. A great good is to come to the whole world out of peace efforts and soul-force, and I today feel the impulse of writing this declaraton...as the time is near when this title of Paramhansa (given) to him (with another) is about to be fulfilled."

Ananda Mohan was the author of several small Bengali books on Lahiri Mahasaya. He printed the spiritual interpretation of Sankhya philosophy by Lahiri Mahasaya in Bengali.

His loss is irreparable to S.R.F. and myself. It was significant, dear Ananda, that you signed in your last letter to me, "Yours in eternity." instead of your usual words at the end of a letter. Adieu until we meet again. Salutations to your soul. I will miss you on earth very much.
