I am not Hendrik, and haven't had the pleasure of knowing him yet as this is my first post here, but I have been doing my best to follow Yogananda for about 16 years now - and believe me, I have really seen everything under the sun, the good, the bad, and the ugly...

My response to you is very simple:

FOLLOW YOUR HEART!

Don't worry about what others say, listen to your heart, and be strong in following what it is telling you. If you love Yogananda, then stick by Him, if you don't, well, this is another issue... and perhaps needs to be looked at.

Don't let any other idiot try to sway you from your devotion - I have much respect for Ramakrishna and Lahiri, but it isn't either one of them who is saying these things - be very careful with what others say, as almost everyone is biased in one way or another, and under Maya's influence.

You are responsible for your own actions, so take the rein of your life and live it based on your heart's guidance.
