Good observations about the energization exercises. I know that sometimes doing them can be like pulling teeth and probably a lot of folks don't give the exercises a chance. In many ways they may appear just to be tensing exercises but as you note embedded in them are various kriyas. Also the fact that they are so freely available may remove some of the "mystique." Many years ago when I was initiated into shakti yoga I learned some exercises to encourage pranotthan, or uptrending of prana. These were similar to some of the energizations.
