"A lot of folks claim to have spiritual power and blessings of some live or dead Guru. The difference is, you can just go and ask the Guru if they are still in the body. Its hard to define a test for authenticity, though, after the Guru has left the body. So you suggest that we should look for "powerful results." Well, a lot of unfortunate folks thought they were getting powerful results with Jim Jones and David Koresh also. That is why authorization to teach becomes important."

I've learned to trust my own experience, and my own Guru-guided intuition. When I feel the Guru's blessings in my Kriya practice and in my life, that's the best sign in the world. The Guru may have left the body, but he sure hasn't left me, or you. He said he would guide us through our intuition, and he does.

"The authorizations given to Kriyananda, et. al. were limited in the sense that they were given in context, in the context of their work via SRF."

I don't know that to be true. Regardless, this is an emotional issue for people. I stand by what I've said about the principle regarding spiritual tradition and Kriya Yoga tradition.

These teachings came from India, which for thousands of years has never had some grand 'authorizing' poobah like the pope. That's why these teachings are still LIVE and not dead. I know there's the danger of the teachings being changed and diluted- but they have stood the test of time for thousands of years in India, and have been planted in American soil with great results. I see no reason to change what works.

"And yes, you and I can agree to disagree on this also."

Thank you! I do have more respect for an opinion when given thoughtfully, calmly and respectfully. A human failing perhaps, but there it is.
