As mind quiets more and more it is gradually gripped by the emerging drunakness which Sanyal Mahasay describes above and senses and mind are led inwards. Mind stops! It is put to rest by the Bliss!
We had posted a short quote a few days ago about Vivekananda (Naren) being sent to the Temple by Ramakrishna to pray for the welfare of his family. But he was struck by such drunkaness that all his desire automatically stopped! See? That is it! That is how it all stops!!

At that stage all movement gradually is stilled. Mind becomes "paralyzed" by the Bliss and Intoxication which absorbes the mind with the Omkar Pranava (the Intoxication or drunkaness is in the Omkar--Pranava.). Even the Pran Kriya (Sat Chakra Kriya or Kriya pranayam) falls away!!
And one takes refuge in the Sahashrar Kriya (learned form Guru)

"By performing Yoganusthan [Kriya Pranayam]as described in the previous Sloka, one attains the Atma-Visuddhi. Then it stabilizes at Kutastha [betyween the eyebrows]without any obstacles and there remains no fear. Due to the removal of obstacles, the possibility of instability is removed and one becomes fearless. In this stage, due to the renunciation of contact with Prakriti, there arises the Nada-Brahma and sudhaka follows that (sound) without performing any Kriya and becomes Karma-Tyagi and arrives at Sahasrara. At this time only due to the only support of Nada-Brahmachari [one pointed absorption of the Nada sound] all the resolution and doubts are subsided effortlessly and he attains the mind with self control (Sanyatamana). Then gradually the Chitta enters the interior of Nada Brahma by focusing on the celestial (Apurva) Jyoti. After that he can also penetrate the core of Jyoti. In the end, the stage attained due to the subsidence of Antarnusrama Vritties is called Mat-Para or Manishtha stage. After that no other Chitta-Vritti remains as it has merged with Jyoti. Indeed that state is called Vritti Vismanan or restrain or control of Chitta Vritties (Chitta-Vritti Nirodha) or Samaadhaana state (equanimos) or he is said to attain the Yoga Vastha or Samahit Avastha. In this stage, the Physical body stays steady like a jug full of water. ||6.14||
..............Swami PRanabananda Paramhansa from Pranab Gita

"Sadhaka! While performing Kriya, you will observe that your mind is not falling towards attraction of Vishayas. There is no relation (attachment) even with Prana-kriya. As soon as the Prana is stabilized, no desires arise anymore. Then only you will know that you have been “Yogaarudha= established in Yoga”. At that time, mind takes refuge in Sahasrara Kriyas effortlessly. Then, other than that (sp) there remains no other sadhana. After sometime, one attains Brahmi-sthiti. He maintains the (sp) state even while experiencing the enjoyments at that time." ||6.4|| .........Swami Pranabananda Paramhansa from excerpts from 4:3 of Pranab Gita

Sat Chakra Kriya is the Kriya of the various Kriya Pranayams in the chakras.
Sat Chakra Kriya (pranayam) is done with Rajo Guna. See? Rajo guna is movement. This Rajo is burned via the practice of Sat Chakra Kriya (Pran Kriya)

"Kriya intensely with the fire element is proper, experience these in five forms, and

scriptural scholars have called each of the residing places of the five subtle elements,

meaning substance (cause) - earth-element, water-element, fire-element, air-element and

ether-element, and they have also said that all three gunas - sattva (neuter), raja

(positive) and tama (negative) - are magnetized to those subtle elements present in Nature".
...............Sri Yukteshvarji's Gita

"Except rajoguna, there is no guna in Prakriti in the area of Kriyashakti. Thus, this is

the highest of all karmas. By this, whatever work is done, the ordinary faculties take on

that good character, and whatever is decided upon by this, all of the faculties follow that

path." ..............Sri Yukteshvarji's Gita 3-21-

"Thus, doing Kriya intensely with the fire element is proper
Srii Yuktehsvar Gita 2 (summary of Chapter 2)

Therefore, it is one's duty to resolutely perform Kriya with all-out effort in the power of

the fire element. ...........Sri Yukteshvarji Gita 2-37-

So as long as there is movement to the mind and prana one utilizes that movement an practices the Sat Chakra Kriya.
Through that pranayam the breaths are balanced. It is like the two arms of the scale. When the wieght is uneven there is movement--the scale tips back and forth. When the weight becomes balanced (like when the breath becomes balanced) the all movement ceases and the arms of the scale come into "poise".
So the breath comes into poise via balancing it via Kriya.
This is called "Kevali" and gradually, from this practice which utilizes movement (Rajo guna) all movement is stilled in the Post Kriya Poise and all gunas are transcended:

"It is experienced through the eye of wisdom that it is necessary for that

delusion-vanquishing, enemy-burning energy of the fire element, meaning all work done with

rajoguna, to renounce all of that and in stillness rely upon Kutasthachaitanya (Sri

Krishna)." Sriyukteshvarji Gita 2 -9-

"On penetration of Kutastha and after crossing the Ãjnã Chakra, Rajas is gradually eliminated. As soon as the Prãna Kriyã stops, the actionless Sahasrãra is developed and then the light of the stability-light-knowledge is lit up, and the past-present-future all becomes available."..................Pranab GIta chapter 2:45

So one performs the Sat Chakra Kriyas (Pran Kriya) exact as instructed by Guru---in exact numbers instructed by Gurudev and arrives at Kutastha between the eyebrows in perfect stillness and is absorbed in the drunkaness and bliss-----

"one attains the Supreme Bliss of the par avastha of Kriya. The Bliss about which no one has the ability to speak - the reason why It is “avyakta” [unspoken] -- known by oneself -- later cannot make anyone know."..........Lahii Baba Gita 14:1

"residing where, there is one Happiness - meaning, one eternally resides in that One State of Supreme Bliss"......... 14:27

" The air from outside remains outside -- it is this kind of victorious Soul who experiences such great happiness -- One Bliss of Brahman -- it is in That that one is embedded, with dharana, dhyan and samadhi -- and goes on through time in such happiness - a happiness which has no diminution or end [indestructible] -- other pleasures have certain demise. ......Lahiri baba in His Gita 5:21

"There is True Bliss for one who always keeps vayu stilled in the head -- lion can been seen -- bird can be seen." ......Lahiri Baba in His Gita 10:30

One takes refuge in the Sahashrar Kriyas as taught by the Guru--

"one has to diligently ascend, Chakra by Chakra to the Bhrumadhya (center of the eyebrows). This is done by the controlling and balancing of the life force within the spine, with the help of Brahma-Mantra ( Pranav). Subsequently, by Divine Intoxication (the after effect- poise of kriyã), without any effort at all, one can enter the Brahmarandhra on the top of the brain. It is there that one merges with the Primal Cause and attains the Brahmãnanda. This state is beyond death."
..........................Swami Pranabananda/Sri Janen Mukhopadyay from Introduction to Pranab Gita

Look---here is another example of contradiction. Kriyavans will see unity but others will not understand. Here is the story.

You may know that Sriyukteshvarji's conversations with Lahiri Baba were often (not always) in the light of the astrological basis of Kriya. See? Kriya is all things to all people. To a Tantrik like Pranabanandaji the discussion was in terms of tantra science of the chakras and such. To the healer discussion weas in terms of healing. To the astrologer it was in terms of astrology. This is how Lahii Baba dispensed Kriya---so that it's many faces would be preserved through the various lines. One goes to the line one is drawn to. Some like Strawberry ice cream and some like vanilla.

Now here is the other contradiuction. Sriyukteshvar used to describe the state of the bottom of the sopine as the "full moon". The top being the "new moon".
Now I have a dear friend who is a member of the Saraswati branch of the Swami order and he belongs to another Kriya line. Yet he is my dear brother. His master had said just the oppisite of Sriyukteshvarji---that at the top of the spine is the full moon and at the bootom is the new moon! Now you see--- some who are not Kriyavans would see contradiction but my friend and I both saw complete unity. Do you know why? Because these two places--top and bottom of the spine are actually one and the same!!!
Lahiri Baba spoke of varuous knots which must be "crossed". Tongue knot and such. One is the muldhar knot. NOw when that muladhar knot breaks then the top and bottom of the spine are the same. There is no up and down! No top or bottom! They are ONE
So therefore both statemets are true---the staement of Sriyukteshvarji and the statement of my friends Master!

So we go back to the top of this too long post where we see the supposed "contradictory" statemts about --

"In the paravastha----advanced stage of yoga there are no waves in the brain, and in the more advanced stage men becomes intoxicated like a drunk without any ambition or any wish----this is the effect of spiritual happiness

.............................Sanyal Mahasay's Gita 2:49

“the form of bliss that is felt between child and parent, such is the form that the jivatman (individual soul) has when in the paramatman and is in the constant experience of the Supreme Person. [But] “Anandam nandanateetam” is where even the Supreme Person is not, meaning the post-Kriya state (“Kriya paravastha”), where even bliss is not.”
Yogiraj ….sloka 8, Teja Bindu Upanishad commentary

Both are true because in that Supreme state all duality ceases. Both statements become ONE!
They merge into ONE. Both statements are true! :-)

What an amazingly beautiful thing "w" has said---

"But if such states are not supported by the right behaviour, they won’t last"

Just beautiful!
