The skin (semi-permeable or no) does not cover the pituitary. The skin covers a bone which surrounds the sphenoid sinus beyond which the pituitary lies. So, beyond a layer of skin, a layer of bone (quite solid), the sinus cavity fluid, another layer of bone lies the pituitary gland. Personally, I doubt if the tongue can have any impact whatsoever on the pituitary and I don't know if would want it to.

>Perhaps this is why he spoke of Kechari as being either touching the tip of the tongue to the uvula or little tongue or going all the way back to the pituitary protrusion at the soft palate beyond the nasal passages.

I don't recall reading where Yoganandaji mentions the pituitary in regards to Kechari. Do you know where he discusses this?
